Klipsch has announced that the R-60M bookshelf speaker has joined the Klipsch Reference speaker range. The R-60M draws inspiration from the brand’s RP-600M design to produce an affordable bookshelf speaker that’s capable of delivering big sound.
Thanks to its 6.5in spun-copper TCP woofer and the high-frequency driver’s edge-to-edge square Tractrix horn, the R-60M is designed to be easy to drive with almost any modern equipment, and delivers a full-frequency response.
Klipsch R-60M in detail
As the largest bookshelf in the Reference speaker range, the R-60M delivers a full-range sound performance while maintaining a relatively compact footprint that’s easy to integrate into most living spaces.
Klipsch’s exclusive Tractrix horn technology delivers the power, detail and emotion of a live music experience with the cleanest, most natural sound possible, says the manufacturer.
The increased outer horn dimensions allow for directivity control over a larger bandwidth of frequencies, resulting in improved high frequency directivity and a more accurate sound stage.
The exclusive Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) tweeter minimises distortion for enhanced, detailed performances. Aluminium is an extremely light and rigid material used in the tweeter assembly to provide high efficiency and improve resolution and detail. LTS tweeters are a hallmark of Klipsch speakers.
Utilising trickle-down technology from Klipsch’s Reference Premiere series, the TCP woofers have steeper angling of the cones for a smoother response and improved accuracy and transparency. The additional ribbing increases the overall rigidity for less cone breakup at higher frequencies.
Hidden fasteners, edge-to-edge horn, and low-profile magnetic grilles give the speakers a clean, modern appearance, while its stylish aesthetic results in a seamless integration into any décor.
Reinforced 3/4” MDF construction with an all-new bracing design reduces cabinet vibration for less audible colouration and improved sonic accuracy.
The new model is shipping to Klipsch dealers across the UK in early December 2024 and will be available from Henley Audio in the UK for a SRP of £425.00 GBP / €449.00 EUR.
