Lewis CaliburnKEF has announced the new generation of the Muo Bluetooth speaker, offering high fidelity sound and a design that delivers portability and everyday flexibility.
Muo delivers bass, crisp details and richness, while Bluetooth 5.4 aptX Adaptive keeps every note in perfect sync, with a 24-hour battery.
The built-in microphone lets a user’s voice be heard with clarity and IP67-rated waterproof and dustproof design protects from the chaos of everyday life. Designed by Ross Lovegrove, Muo draws inspiration from the two-metre-tall sculptural Muon HiFi speakers.

A highly efficient racetrack driver, with long excursion and large cone area, has been specifically developed for Muo to reproduce the lower notes in the bass register with low distortion and low power consumption.
P-Flex Surround Technology, adapted from KEF’s compact KC62 and KC92 subwoofers, is incorporated into the bass driver’s surround. By resisting deformation otherwise caused by high internal air pressure from the small enclosure, Muo avoids distortion and delivers a clean bass.
The dedicated 19mm dome tweeter brings a new level of high-frequency sophistication, conveying a natural and clear reproduction of every musical detail in any listening setting.
To enhance the overall performance, Muo incorporates the latest Music Integrity Engine (MIE), KEF’s proprietary suite of advanced DSP algorithms developed for the brand’s larger range of HiFi speakers, including the flagship LS60 Wireless. This technology dynamically adapts the music signal to unleash deep bass extension, while providing control and clarity at all listening levels and with any kind of musical content.
For true portability, Muo features Bluetooth 5.4 aptX Adaptive for high-fidelity, low-latency audio, delivering clarity and a reliable connection. In two hours, the speaker is fully charged. If time is of the essence, with a quick 15-minute charge, music can play for up to three hours.
Muo’s IP67-rated waterproof and dustproof design protects against rain, sand and spills. With an operating range from –20°C to 45°C, Muo is ready to perform in any climate, from freezing winters to scorching heatwaves.
This versatile portable speaker connects with Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair with a single tap. A simple wired connection to any laptop is available through Muo’s USB Type-C port, integrating easily into your daily life.
For an immersive experience, two Muo speakers can be paired to transform into a portable stereo HiFi system with dedicated left and right channels working in harmony to deliver wireless stereo sound with detail, dimensional depth and precise spatial imaging. Multiple Muo speakers can also be linked to further amplify the listening experience via Auracast.
Control is via the KEF Connect App, allowing users to manage speaker settings and update firmware, from a single, intuitive interface.
Crafted from premium aluminium, this new generation of Muo is available in Silver Dusk, Amber Haze, Orange Moon, Blue Aura, Moss Green, Cocoa Brown and Midnight Black.
This portable speaker is built with recycled plastic, transformed from everyday waste like used bottles, discarded home appliances and even outdated smartphones and laptops.
