HARMAN Luxury Audio Group has announced a significant expansion of its immersive audio portfolio with the introduction of nine new JBL Synthesis Custom Loudspeakers (SCL) and three next-generation processing and amplification components, representing the brand’s most comprehensive product evolution in years.
The new loudspeakers and electronics extend JBL Synthesis’ ability to support increasingly sophisticated residential cinema and luxury home audio installations, offering integrators and designers greater flexibility, scalability and performance across architectural and in-room applications.
At the centre of the 2026 introduction is the expansion of the JBL Synthesis SCL Custom Loudspeakers, spanning both architectural in-wall designs and new in-room and on-wall solutions. All models are timbre-matched and engineered to integrate seamlessly within complete JBL Synthesis systems.
The new SCL models update and expand the flagship in-wall lineup with the latest JBL transducer technologies, advanced compression drivers and precision HDI horn geometry.

The series includes four models. The SCL-2XL is a high-output, reference-grade in-wall loudspeaker with quadruple 8-inch woofers and a powerful high-frequency compression driver designed for LCR applications behind acoustically transparent screens and for demanding surround needs in large and extra-large rooms.
The SCL-4XL is a powerful and versatile dual 8-inch in-wall solution with a high-frequency compression driver offering wide, consistent coverage and balanced performance for premium cinema environments.
Meanwhile the SCL-6XL is a quadruple 6.5-inch loudspeaker with a powerful compression driver delivering high performance with installer-friendly features and efficient architectural integration.
Lastly, the SCL-7XL is a dual 6.5-inch in-wall loudspeaker featuring a compression driver with an offset HDI horn design that allows sound to be precisely aimed toward the listening area, ideal for surround and centre-channel applications where directivity control is critical.

Addressing applications where in-wall installation is not possible, JBL Synthesis also introduces a new range of in-room and on-wall loudspeakers designed to deliver performance without architectural compromise:
The SCL-10XL is a flagship in-room/built-in loudspeaker with dual 10-inch woofers, engineered for reference-level output behind projection screens or within custom cabinetry, while the SCL-10 is a more compact high-performance dual 6.5-inch in-room/built-in solution for medium to large rooms.
The SCL-9XL is a high-output quadruple 5.25-inch on-wall loudspeaker with a powerful compression driver designed for large displays and immersive systems..
The SCL-9 is a slim, versatile dual 5.25-inch on-wall loudspeaker ideal for LCR or surround use in design-driven spaces, while the SSW-5 is a new 12-inch, 1,000W powered subwoofer for in-room and mixed installations.
Complementing the expanded loudspeaker lineup, JBL Synthesis has also introduced three advanced electronics designed to anchor modern immersive systems.
The SDP-70 Immersive AV Processor is a 24-channel processing platform offering expanded system flexibility, advanced Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART) and network-ready architecture for complex immersive designs.
Next is the SDP-60 Immersive AV Processor, a 16-channel processor delivering reference-grade decoding, balanced outputs, Matrix Channel Assignment, supporting Dirac Live ART optimisation for high-performance cinemas.
Lastly, the SDR-40 Immersive AV Receiver is a powerful all-in-one solution combining 16-channel processing with nine channels of Class G amplification, delivering high output, efficiency and streamlined system deployment.

These components are engineered to work with the expanded SCL loudspeaker family, supporting Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, IMAX Enhanced and AURO-3D immersive formats while offering the control and flexibility required by today’s most demanding custom installations.
Rather than introducing isolated products, JBL Synthesis’ 2026 lineup reflects a system-level approach to immersive audio design. Loudspeakers, processing, amplification and subwoofers are developed together to ensure consistent voicing, predictable performance and scalable system design across a wide range of residential applications.
This ecosystem-driven philosophy aims to allow integrators to design and deploy everything from dedicated private cinemas to multi-purpose luxury living spaces, using a cohesive family of components.
“With this new generation of JBL Synthesis loudspeakers and electronics, we’re delivering the most complete and flexible immersive audio ecosystem we’ve ever offered,” says Jim Garrett, Senior Director, Product Strategy and Planning, HARMAN Luxury Audio. “From architectural in-wall solutions to in-room loudspeakers and advanced processing platforms, every product is designed to work together as part of a cohesive system. This expansion gives integrators and designers the tools they need to create reference-level cinema experiences.”
The new JBL Synthesis lineup begins shipping this summer.
