HDA simplifies installs with uControl uOS 11.08

HDA has announced the release of uControl uOS 11.08, the latest over-the-air update designed to simplify installations and expand capabilities for both residential and commercial projects.

The uOS 11.08 update introduces features aimed at installers managing larger, more complex environments, including multi-zone homes, hospitality venues, gyms, bars and shared spaces. By focusing on real-world installer workflows, the release aims to reduce setup friction, remove unnecessary rebuilds and improve system scalability, helping projects move efficiently from commissioning to completion.

uOS 11.08 introduces Commercial Wall Mode, a single interface providing both zone-level and building-wide control. Installers can now manage individual rooms, defined zones, or entire buildings from one panel, while end users gain seamless access to lights, displays, blinds and audio. This feature is ideal for multi-zone homes, offices, hospitality venues, education spaces and sports facilities.

QuickConnect Profiles enable one-click deployment of validated integrations for systems such as Rako, Lutron RA2 and Loxone. By automating setup details, installers save time, reduce errors and ensure consistent performance across repeat projects.

uOS 11.08 allows installers to modify devices, zones and remote functions on active systems without resets or full project rebuilds. Live System Editing reduces disruption, avoids rework and enables projects to adapt to evolving requirements seamlessly.

The update adds direct IP control for thousands of Android and Google TV devices, including the latest Sony Bravia models, as well as devices from TCL, Hisense, Philips, Panasonic, Sharp, Xiaomi and Motorola.

Android-based source devices and set-top boxes such as Google TV, NVIDIA Shield, Verizon and TiVo are also supported. By reducing reliance on infrared and external gateways, uControl simplifies system design while improving reliability across residential and commercial installations.

Every aspect of uOS 11.08 is designed with the installer in mind. The release aims to streamline setup, speed up commissioning and provide greater flexibility for scaling or adapting systems over time. Improvements across remotes, apps, wall control, integration workflows and native IP communication make uControl easier to deploy, modify and maintain.

“uOS 11.08 represents another meaningful step forward for the uControl platform,” says Chris Pinder, Managing Director, HDA. “By listening to the real-world needs of installers, we’ve created features that make systems faster to deploy, easier to modify and more scalable across residential and commercial projects.”

uOS 11.08 is available now for the latest uControl and MHUB systems. Updates can be applied via the Advanced Menu in uOS or through the uControl App.
