Lewis CaliburnGoldmund has introduced the Telos 9800, the new flagship of its amplifier collection, which the brand is calling the most advanced amplifier it has ever developed..
Delivering 1550 watts into 8 ohms, the Telos 9800 is built around an entirely new amplification platform. For the first time, the power supply and amplification stages are physically separated into two dedicated yet interconnected units, allowing each subsystem to operate under optimal conditions while reinforcing the product’s mechanical and electrical integrity.
At its core, Goldmund’s proprietary power management system combines 10 kVA of transformer capacity with the largest capacitor bank ever developed by the company, delivering 648 mF of stored energy.
Together with the custom-designed capacitors, in-house engineered transformers and a completely redesigned amplification stage built around next-generation power boards, this new platform is designed to deliver greater stability, instantaneous current delivery and loudspeaker control under the most demanding conditions.
Fully symmetrical from input to output, with galvanic isolation between the power supply and amplification stages, the Telos 9800 preserves signal integrity while minimising electromagnetic interference and unwanted noise. Stable down to a 1-ohm load and equipped with comprehensive protection systems, it has been engineered for reliability.
Developed in collaboration with designer Cécile Barani, the Telos 9800 also introduces a new design language for Goldmund.
The Telos 9800 is priced at 400,000 CHF per unit – approximately £370,000/€430,000/$500,000.
