Fyne Audio has expanded its F500E range with the new F55E compact floorstander, bringing point-source precision and floorstanding-scale bass to an IsoFlare loudspeaker below £900.
This unique compact floorstander brings the brand’s celebrated IsoFlare point-source technology and BassTrax diffuser system to its most accessible full-range design yet.
Announced earlier this year, the entry-level F500E Series marked a major milestone for Fyne Audio, as the company transitioned to become an all-IsoFlare brand. Across seven ranges and over 60 models, every loudspeaker in the Fyne portfolio is now built around the brand’s patented point-source driver technology. The introduction of the F55E completes the lineup with a slim, room-friendly floorstanding model that brings the benefits of true point-source performance to a wider audience than ever before.
“The F55E is all about balance,” says Anji Sosna, Managing Director of Fyne Audio. “It delivers the refinement, delicacy and imaging precision of a small stand-mount speaker, but with the body, bass weight and scale of a floorstander. It does without taking up any more space than a stand-mount and stand.”
The F55E’s discreet footprint makes it ideal for smaller and medium-sized rooms where space is at a premium but musical ambitions are not. Despite its bijou proportions, the new model packs a serious punch, using a 5-inch IsoFlare driver and downward-firing port system with BassTrax Tractrix diffuser.
At the heart of every Fyne loudspeaker is its signature IsoFlare driver. In the F55E, this proprietary point-source driver integrates a multi-fibre mid/bass cone with a titanium dome compression tweeter, mounted concentrically to share a single acoustic centre. This ensures that all frequencies radiate outward from precisely the same point in space, producing a perfectly time-aligned wavefront for pinpoint imaging and natural coherence across the frequency spectrum.
The F55E’s IsoFlare driver is a bespoke 5in unit featuring Fyne’s multi-fibre paper cone for fast, natural midrange response, coupled to the brand’s FyneFlute surround. This undulating edge design effectively terminates cone energy, suppressing resonances that can colour the sound.
The titanium HF diaphragm is powered by a neodymium magnet motor and coupled to a carefully shaped waveguide that optimises dispersion into the room. Together, these refinements ensure that the F55E delivers both the crisp transient response of a precision studio monitor and the musical depth and scale that underpin Fyne’s sound signature.
Complementing the IsoFlare driver, the BassTrax Tractrix diffuser system transforms the energy from the floor-firing port into a smooth 360-degree low-frequency wavefront. This patented design uses a conical diffuser shaped to a geometric Tractrix profile that naturally expands the bass energy evenly in all directions.
As with the rest of the F500E Series, the F55E’s cabinet is constructed from high-density MDF with internal bracing and acoustic damping to reduce colouration and cabinet talk. The discreet black oak finish combines understated elegance with practical durability, while a Walnut finish will join the lineup early next year for those seeking a warmer, more traditional look.
Available now in Black Oak finish and Walnut early 2026, the F55E joins the five-strong F500E lineup that has made IsoFlare technology accessible at every level.
