The phased UK rollout of Lutron’s Intelligent Lighting solutions has reached a new milestone, with the full suite of Orluna light fittings now available within the My Lutron portal. This enables the integration of high-performance fixtures into client quotes and system designs.

This represents a significant shift for home automation specialists and lighting designers across the UK. For the first time, installers can access Orluna’s world-class architectural fittings directly when specifying projects involving a Lutron system.

Orluna fittings are created to unlock the full potential of Human-Centric Lighting (HCL). Orluna’s tunable technology delivers high-fidelity white light across a broad spectrum (1800K–4000K). This enables seamless transitions between warm and cool tones, ensuring the lighting environment consistently supports the wellbeing of occupants and the aesthetic of the space.

Key technical advantages now available to UK projects include:

  • Precision dimming with flicker-free transitions down to an industry-leading 0.1%.
  • Strong colour rendering (CRI) across the tunable spectrum, ensuring interiors and artworks are revealed with accuracy and vibrancy.
  • Lighting environments designed to improve sleep quality, energise wake-ups and support the body’s natural rhythms.

Christian Dodgson, Founder of smart home specialist Clearly Automated, highlights the impact this launch will have on the custom installation market, “After a fantastic launch with Lutron at ISE this year, the Orluna range of light fittings is now available in the UK through the Lutron portal for order. We noticed they came live on Monday, April 6, and the implications are massive.

“Tunable white lighting has been around for the last four or five years, but the real gamechanger here is that Lutron, through Orluna, now offers a range of fittings with digital driver technology embedded directly within the fixtures themselves. Having the technology and the driver integrated into a single, addressable unit is the shift the industry has been waiting for. It removes the need for complex external control wiring.”

The launch provides a powerful solution to one of the most common hurdles in home automation: the limitations of existing wiring. Historically, creating a multi-layered lighting scheme in a retrofit project required significant cabling, chasing into walls and the disruption of replastering to create separate physical circuits. With the introduction of Orluna CCX technology, installers can now deliver multi-circuit results using a single existing cable.

Christian gives the example of a client remodelling a bedroom that currently only has a single central pendant light circuit, “Previously, adding a row of downlighters, decorative bedside pendants and integrated LED tape would have been a wiring nightmare,” he says.

“Let’s say you had just one light fitting in the middle of a bedroom. Now, you could put in a few connectors and create another row of downlighters, picture lights, pendants and LED tape hidden under shelving. That’s all from just one cable.”

Because the intelligence resides within the CCX drivers, the software handles the heavy lifting. Installers can group these individual fittings and create complex scenes through the Lutron programming environment, providing the client with a professional, multi-zoned lighting design without the need for additional cables or structural disruption.

This ‘software-defined’ approach to circuitry offers new flexibility when specifying jobs. It allows for high-end lighting upgrades in spaces where traditional rewiring was previously deemed too costly or invasive.

It follows Lutron’s global declaration at ISE 2026 regarding the expansion of its Intelligent Lighting portfolio. In February, the company stated that its goal is to unify Orluna with Lutron systems to create a ‘fully addressable lighting ecosystem’.

UK installers can now access the full suite of Orluna form factors, including:

  • Downlights
  • Track lights
  • Linears
  • Lamps
  • Decorative fixtures
