National Homebuilding & Renovating Show sees huge uptake in smart home exhibitors

The National Homebuilding & Renovating Show (19-22 March, NEC, Birmingham) is seeing a big increase in the number of smart home and AV focused companies exhibiting at this year’s show, bringing home technology to the many thousands of show visitors.

Over the course of four days, an audience of more than 24,000 homebuilders, renovators, investors and trade professionals will visit the NEC to experience the innovations that are reshaping property renovation requirements.

For the custom installation industry, the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show opens up a huge potential audience for manufacturers and installers of smart home tech. It is the perfect opportunity for CI companies to explain and demonstrate the benefits of smart home technology to the pre-qualified audience.

Michael Holmes, property expert and director of content for Homebuilding & Renovating, says, “We are delighted to see an increase in the number of home technology businesses at the show this year. It is such an important part of home building and renovating planning today and we are sure the returning and new exhibitors will benefit from the chance to educate the public on the tangible benefits of incorporating smart home systems into new builds and renovation projects.”

The continued rise of remote and hybrid working are two key areas that are creating a significant impact. They will be under the spotlight at the show, as experts discuss the impact of multi-functional living on project specifications and build value, as well as commercial opportunities for the trade, supported by an array of technology solutions from the show’s exhibitors.

Michael adds, “We’re seeing a fundamental shift in how homes are being designed and delivered and this is being driven by remote working, evolving family dynamics and rising demand for flexible living. This is fuelling strong growth in higher-value, more technologically involved renovation projects, leading an increasing number of homeowners to source technology solution providers for the build.”
