MSE Audio, parent company of SoundTube Entertainment, Soundsphere, dARTS, Phase Technology, Induction Dynamics, SolidDrive and Rockustics, has announced a new dARTS loudspeaker – the CI140D angled ceiling speaker.

Shipping globally now, the CI140D angled ceiling speaker allows the integrator to install the ceiling-mounted front channel speakers while still providing the quality of sound necessary to meet dARTS requirements.

The 45in angled baffle fills the listening area with direct sound, reportedly producing an uncompromised front sound stage. Low frequencies are augmented with the brand’s patented hybrid enclosure design which produces twice the bass compared to speakers using conventional enclosures.

With two 5.25in RPF flat-piston Fiberglass/Kevlar composite woofers and a 1.125in soft dome tweeter, the CI140D delivers accurate performance with the high output needed for all home theatre formats. Additionally, the patented Positive Clamping System ensures rigid non-resonant system mounting.

“Our integrators and distributors requested a high-performance ceiling speaker for clients who want even more versatility with dARTS theaters,” says Ken Hecht, Vice President of MSE Audio. “The ability to install the speakers into the ceiling better meet the aesthetic requirements of many customers and will provide our integrators more flexibility in creating the ultimate theater anywhere in their client’s home.”

The dARTS (digital audio reference theatre system) digital theatre experience was developed to ensure that installers’ clients’ speakers perform the way they were designed in the lab – even when installed in the real-world.
