L’Oréal’s Brussels HQ gets Crestron AV makeover

Crestron has transformed L’Oréal Belgium’s new Brussels HQ with an elegant, high-performance AV system supporting hybrid meetings, training sessions and seamless workplace control.

L’Oréal Group produced its first product in 1909. That legacy has grown to the point that the company now claims the title of top cosmetics group worldwide, encompassing 37 brands and a presence in over 150 countries. L’Oréal Belgium is one of the oldest subsidiaries of the company.

L’Oréal Belgium recently relocated into the Quatuor building, a prestigious office project in Brussels designed to be an ideal workspace that prioritises the total well-being of its occupants.

The L’Oréal Group planned to use this space to house corporate operations while also offering a welcoming space for customers and visitors complete with meeting rooms, flexible workspaces, training areas, an Eat&Meet corner and a retail shop to showcase products.

L’Oréal sought to transform its new Brussels office into a multifunctional environment that seamlessly blended work and life through technology.

Integrator ACS Partners worked with designers from AVLC to create a discreet design that would include omnipresent, noninvasive technology to harmonise with the architectural elegance of the space.

Crestron covers the collaboration, control and content needs of the new L’Oréal office space and AVLC and ACS Partners ultimately selected the Crestron intelligent video portfolio, DM NVX AV-over-IP platform and control solutions to provide a premium offering with simplified management and scalable flexibility.

Hybrid meetings have become routine among L’Oréal employees so the design for this office needed to include a variety of meeting spaces that could support solo work and group discussions of different sizes that could support video conferencing.

Noninvasive technology is located in the ceilings and raised flooring, which hides the cabling that powers premium digital content and hybrid video solutions to bring corporate messaging and collaboration capabilities to each of the spaces.

DM NVX AV-over-IP and DM NAX Audio-over-IP solutions deliver the high-quality video and audio experience the facility required while discreetly blending with the sophisticated architectural design.

In larger meeting spaces, Crestron 1 Beyond cameras were selected for their Visual AI capabilities that enable smooth tracking abilities to deliver a seamless meeting experience. With the Automate VX multi-camera system, the cameras around the room are directed to properly capture and frame active speakers based on their posture and the direction in which they are speaking.

Participants are able to speak naturally and fluidly with the confidence that the Crestron system is capturing them from the best angle to keep remote participants engaged and a part of the meeting.

Beyond these meeting spaces, L’Oréal aimed to create a state-of-the-art training environment that would allow them to interact with customers and showcase their beauty products.

A professional-grade technology system was needed to broadcast these sessions to larger audiences in a way that engaged participants and connected them to the content being presented. Three modular training rooms tackle these needs and each features a Crestron touch screen to control intelligent video cameras, volume and content sources for the 136in display at the front of the room.

With the Crestron intelligent video solutions in place, L’Oréal can produce broadcast-quality live streams in their training academy to share their product training with a global audience in real-time.

The IT team also benefits from this deployment with the addition of the XiO Cloud technology operations management platform, which allows effortless monitoring and management of these systems.

ACS Partners also provides remote monitoring, regular maintenance and system upgrades that ensure continued operation at peak performance. XiO Cloud platform enables L’Oréal to quickly identify any system disruptions and proactively manage their systems to reduce downtime and ensure smoother business operations.

The Crestron portfolio optimised the technology experiences in the L’Oréal workplace with intuitive systems that create an efficient, flexible environment that accommodates individual work, hybrid collaboration and hosting guests onsite.

The cutting-edge technology and sleek office design have modernised the work experience for employees with environments and tools that set employees up for success, no matter what their day might entail.

“The Crestron ecosystem truly came together to deliver on the content, collaboration and control needs that L’Oréal required,” says Alban Bernier, Partner at ACS Partners. “We know that the technologies in place will provide a premium experience that delivers on both functionality and aesthetics for an office space employees will enjoy using.”
