A brand that caught the ear and the eye at the recent Bristol Hi-Fi show was Kanto, supplied into the UK via Dynamic Distribution.

A range of attractive speakers and subs is some striking colours including gloss and matt finished like red and bamboo, these speakers also sound the part too.

The maker and distributor report a positive response from show visitors as the brand looks to spread its presence in the UK.

The company’s YU6 is speaker is powerful for its size with a Class D amplifier pumping out 200W peak power. Its 5.25in Kevlar drivers and 1in silk dome tweeters inject detailed sound into every square inch of living space, says the maker delivering the full emotion range of whatever is being played.

This model also has a handy built-in phono pre-amp which makes it easy for users to choose their favourite tunes, while Bluetooth connectivity also allows users to dig into the music stored or streamed from their devices.

For added bass back, the company has products such as its Sub6, a sealed box, front-firing subwoofer offering 200W of bass extension.

A precise low-pass filter makes Sub6 a good match with any Kanto speaker, allowing users to dial in the perfect cut-off frequency. Its 6in paper cone driver enables sub-bass reproduction with low-end that has real weight, says the maker.

Phase adjustment, power saving auto-off and full L/R line level input round out compact package.

If you want to take things up a notch there is also the Sub8 offering a similar set-up, but with 250W offering two channel or home cinema opportunities. All of the company’s designs are created in the brand’s home country of Canada.
