Prove your humanity

Richard Caton, of Janus Technology in Cambridge, has announced that he will be trekking through Nepal in October, including an ascent of Kyajo Ri (6186m). He will be raising money for two worthy charities, Together for Cinema and Sherpa Aid UK.

Richard, director and founder of Janus Technology, is not someone to shy away from a challenge. Having run multiple half marathons and full marathons, he is always looking for something new to challenge him. This year he has chosen to take on Nepal, the three week trek will take Richard through the Himalayas and to the peak of Kyajo Ri, with a peak of 6186m.

“I love to challenge myself to do things that others may see as silly or impossible. This challenge will certainly be one of the hardest I have put myself through. I wanted it to mean something, not just for me but also for others. Which is why I’ve decided to fundraise for Together for Cinema and Sherpa Aid UK,” says Richard.

Janus Technology is a software company within the custom install industry. Together for Cinema, one of Richard’s chosen charities, installs home cinemas in hospices and respite centres, making this technology available to thousands of children and young adults with life limiting conditions, plus their families and support workers.

Sherpa Aid UK, is a charity set up by Jagged Globe, that supports mountain workers and their families who are ill, injured or killed whilst working in the mountains. It was originally set up after ice on the west shoulder of Everest sadly killed 16 Sherpas in 2014. The money raised is hugely needed and appreciated by the Sherpa’s families.

“Being physically able to do such a challenge and able to give something back to organisations who do great work in supporting others is really important to me. It would be truly appreciated if you could donate, however big or small. All donations are split 50/50 between my two chosen charities,” Richard explains.
