Sonos has increased the prices of all of its products in Europe, due to the sharp decline in the EUR to USD conversion rate.

Prices changed on July 31 with some products increasing by as much as 100 EUR overnight, while others saw more modest increases.

Sonos price increases

While the price increase specifically targets countries that have adopted the euro as its currency, other currencies that are closely tied to the euro have also been affected.

That means people living in Denmark, Sweden and Norway are also affected by the changes – with prices on the Sonos website now higher than they were throughout July.

Sonos has had to make the price changes due to the company’s practice of paying for everything in US dollars, something that should come as no surprise given that the company is based in Santa Barbara, California.

Some customers have reacted badly to the news posted on Sonos’ blog. Many comments in the blog point out the fact that some products have increased by as much as 15%, despite Sonos already being offered at a premium over competitors such as Denon’s HEOS system.

The UK remains unaffected.
