Multi-award-winning British audio manufacturer Q Acoustics introduces its new Easyfit Speaker Series, a range of high-performance in-ceiling speakers designed to make installation faster, simpler and more reliable than ever before, without compromising on sound quality or design.
Building on its reputation for award-winning audio systems and speakers, the Easyfit range is developed for homeowners and installers seeking premium sound with minimal disruption. The new series includes three 6.5in models – QI65CE, QI65CWE IPX4 and QI65CWE Stereo IPX4 – and, following later in the year, the QI80CE 8in in-ceiling speaker. Each model is engineered to deliver room-filling, class-leading performance while blending discreetly into living spaces.
At the heart of the new range is a smart Easyfit mechanism, designed to dramatically reduce installation time and remove many of the frustrations associated with fitting traditional in-ceiling speakers. The result is a cleaner install, greater reliability and a stress-free experience from start to finish, says the company.
The Easyfit speakers are optimally tuned to partner with Q Acoustics’ E50, E120 and E300A easy install audio systems, while remaining fully compatible with third-party installation systems. With a zero-clutter aesthetic and refined finish, the speakers integrate seamlessly into any room in the home, delivering powerful, immersive sound without drawing attention to themselves, the company explains.
Easyfit mechanism – faster, smarter installation
The Easyfit spring mechanism is engineered to significantly reduce fitting time while improving long-term reliability. By eliminating the need for power tools and traditional screw-tightened fittings, which can often strip or break over time, Easyfit offers a robust, installer-friendly solution.
Each speaker uses four high-tension spring fixings that apply consistent pressure against the plasterboard. The fixings can be primed into a locking position and, once the speaker is wired and placed into the ceiling void, the installer releases each catch. The springs then deploy automatically, securing the speaker firmly in place. A screwdriver is only required for removal, using a simple push, lift and 90-degree turn to retract the mechanism. The process is quick, reliable and highly cost-effective, says the company.
Heritage, engineering and sound quality
Q Acoustics says its heritage in designing class-leading loudspeakers is fully reflected in the Easyfit range. The speakers feature polypropylene mid/bass woofer cones, selected for strong bass and mid-range performance as well as suitability for moisture-resistant applications.
On the QI65CE, QI65CWE and QI80CE models, the tweeter can be pivoted up to 22 degrees through 360 degrees, allowing high frequencies to be directed towards a specific listening position for improved clarity and detail. A high-frequency EQ switch enables fine tuning of the sound by ±1.5 dB to suit different rooms and preferences.
IPX4 certified for bathrooms and kitchens
The QI65CWE and QI65CWE Stereo models are IPX4 certified, making them suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms and kitchens. IPX4 protection means the speakers are resistant to splashing water from any direction. The grilles are zinc-plated before painting to help prevent corrosion in humid environments, says the company.
Refined, discreet design
Every model in the Easyfit series benefits from a minimalist aesthetic. An updated white finish delivers a cleaner look on the ceiling, while an inward-bent metal grille creates a seamless, low-profile appearance, enabling the speaker to blend into the room.
With the launch of the Easyfit Speaker Series, Q Acoustics says it once again demonstrates that outstanding sound, intelligent design and effortless installation can go hand in hand.
