Key to the cable’s appeal is the fact that it contains a built-in video processor that enhances images and can upscale them right up to a 4K UHD resolution.
The chip analyses the incoming signal before adjusting the definition, sharpening the edge lines and even reducing any video noise present before sending this enhanced signal to the TV screen.
“Due to the recent Watchdog investigation and subsequent negativity around HDMI cables, many consumers believe that all HDMI cables are the same and the only way to improve a TV image is to purchase a new TV,” says Philex MD Karl Thomas.
“This would be true if sticking with a standard HDMI cable, but the Thor 4K Cable isn’t just a standard cable; the built in processing chip is so good its image output is certified by Hollywood studio Technicolor.
“Many may ask what difference a cable can make, but this is where the Thor 4K cable comes into its own. The Technicolor-approved chip also upscales the image meaning that a 720p source will be displayed in High Definition on a 1080p TV and a HD 1080p source will be displayed in Ultra High Definition on a 4K TV,” he explains.
“It does this by evaluating what each and every pixel is displaying and then utilising a complex algorithm where it replaces and fills in any missing pixels, thereby upgrading the quality of the image.
“As we all know, demonstration is key,” he concludes. “This cable lends itself to that. The retailer just needs to use two identical televisions side by side, one using a normal HDMI able and the other with the Thor 4K. Consumers will then clearly see the improvements in the Thor 4K image.”
Thor 4K is available now in a 2M length.
