Monitor Audio has announced the availability of its latest Bronze speaker range, which are all available in a range of colours, including; Black Oak, Walnut, Rosemah and White Ash.
The range consists of seven new models the Bronze One and Two, which are bookshelf speakers, Bronze Five and Six, two floorstanders, as well as a dedicated centre, surround and subwoofer model dubbed Bronze Centre, Bronze FX and Bronze W10.
Created specifically for the Bronze range are new drivers which have been engineered in steel-grey.
The proprietary bass and mid drivers utilise a new type of ‘dished’ C-CAM cone, which employs the entire cone surface to radiate sound.
Unbroken by the centre pole-piece aperture, the cone is supposedly more rigid and efficient, as well as less prone to break-up under high drive conditions.
The driver’s voice coil is thermally coupled to the back of the cone, which is said to draw heat away from the coil for better power handling and optimal operation at all volume levels.
A new 25mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter extends each system’s frequency response to 30kHz.
Monitor Audio has also made structural improvement in dome geometry and drive mechanism, which should boost accuracy and extension at the top of the tweeter’s range.

A specially engineered venting system also allows air to flow outside the tweeter’s magnet assembly into a rear loading chamber, which the company says avoids air compression for lower distortion and improved damping.
The New Bronze drivers are individually mounted on a through-bolt which fixes at the back of the cabinet and tensions the driver at the front.
Monitor Audio has also borrowed from its Gold range for its Bronze line-up of speakers, with HiVeII reflex loading making the jump.
The Monitor Audio Bronze Series is available at a range of price points, with the Bronze Centre, Bronze FX and Bronze W10 costing £160, £280 and £500, respectively. The Bronze One, Bronze Two, Bronze Five and Bronze Six cost £230, £280, £560 and £700 per pair, respectively.
All of the Bronze speakers will be available to buy in June 2015.
