‘Performance bass, unmatched value’, Monitor Audio releases new Vestra Subwoofer series.
The all-new Vestra Subwoofer Series extends the brand’s independent range of subwoofers, delivering three models ideally suited to entry- and mid-positioned speaker series, whether used traditionally or deployed within custom installation applications.

Monitor Audio has officially announced the launch of the new Vestra Subwoofer Series. The all-new subwoofer series is designed to extend Monitor Audio’s independent range of subwoofers within the home AV and custom installation space, offering greater flexibility for consumers and integrators by enabling broader speaker and system-matching options and wider flexibility regarding budget.
Engineered and developed alongside Monitor Audio’s recently launched premium Anthra Series Subwoofers, each of the three Vestra subwoofers – the W10, W12 and W15 – includes an acoustic package that enables Monitor Audio to deliver on its Transparent Design Philosophy, which couples superior design elements, intuitive user experience and advanced acoustic engineering, ensuring all elements of performance, technology and design work in harmony.
Created to be understated and modern, Vestra’s design complements the audio experience by focusing on pure performance – making them as visually appealing as they are powerful, says the company.

C-CAM High-Linear Excursion Bass Drivers
Monitor Audio has been at the forefront of metal cone driver technology and its development for nearly four decades. Vestra subwoofers utilise Monitor Audio’s proprietary C-CAM cone technology (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium Magnesium) – a cone technology ideally suited for subwoofers. The properties of C-CAM ensure a more fatigue-resistant, stronger and lighter cone. The result is a material that offers greater pistonic movement under extreme stresses than standard aluminium cones.
Behind the C-CAM cones are powerful new motor systems, featuring triple suspension (W12 and W15), uprated venting and larger round-wound voice coils made of high-purity copper wire. The suspension provides greater control and precision under extreme low frequencies, the venting supports greater airflow to reduce unwanted heat and the larger voice coil delivers the highest possible BI (field strength). FEA optimisation of the steel components also helps linearise the Bl curve – improving consistency of the magnetic field through the gap, which reduces distortion.
The C-CAM bass driver surround has also been carefully optimised. It allows the largest possible cone surface so that the excursion is controlled without overstretching, causing distortion or breaking. The result of this carefully engineered high-linear excursion bass driver, says Monitor Audio, is that Vestra subwoofers deliver exceptional bass responses with swiftness, dexterity, total control and power that delivers on musicality and depth.

Powerful amplification
Behind the high-linear excursion C-CAM bass driver lies a powerful Class-D 250-Watt amplifier powering the Vestra W10, while a 500-Watt Class-D amplifier powers the Vestra W12 and W15. Each has been optimised and configured to match the drive unit and speaker system.
The amplifiers and their power supplies have been carefully designed together to achieve better efficiency and lower distortion. Furthermore, the amplifier enables a range of connectivity options, including unbalanced stereo RCA, LFE unbalanced RCA inputs, useful DSP pre-set configuration modes for in-room position optimisation and a 12-volt trigger.

Cabinet strength
Vestra subwoofer cabinets are crafted for both aesthetic elegance and acoustic performance. Built with rigid, reinforced and braced 15mm thick MDF and finished in contemporary black or white vinyl with painted matte 21mm thick front baffles, the internal bracing ensures stability and enhances sound precision. Each cabinet minimises unwanted resonance, delivering pure, undistorted bass that resonates deeply, says the maker.
The W10 and W12 models benefit from a fully sealed enclosure, ideal for placement versatility, while the larger W15 utilises a ported design to extend low-frequency extension further for maximum bass slam.
