Jordan O'BrienWith multi-room streaming becoming increasingly important for consumers, Monitor Audio has announced that it has signed a partnership with Lenbrook International to use the BluOS high-resolution multi-room platform. The BluOS platform is already used on Bluesound’s products, but will now also be used on those offered by Monitor Audio and Roksan.
BluOS has proven popular with custom installers and high-end Hi-Fi brands thanks to its ability to support direct streaming from a myriad of music services, as well as support for high-resolution streaming up to 24-bit/192kHz from a server on the same network. That’s why the technology isn’t only in use by Bluesound, but has also found favour with NAD and is used on Dali’s Callisto active speakers. The addition of Monitor Audio and Roksan could make BluOS the go-to multi-room streaming platform for custom installers.
Speaking of the agreement, Andrew Flatt, Monitor Audio’s chairman and CEO, notes: “Our development team explored all of the available options for wireless multiroom audio solutions that premier loudspeaker companies must be reviewing in this marketplace.
“After a full review, we’ve decided to adopt the BluOS platform. It is purpose-built for discerning audio enthusiasts and thereby fits with our own core values. Integrating the BluOS multi-room music management experience with our own audio performance and design values will only add to the desirability and satisfaction of our products for our existing and future customers.”
The addition of Monitor Audio to the BluOS ecosystem means that the company’s speakers will now be compatible with other products supporting the platform. That means installers can build a multi-room system complete with Bluesound, Monitor Audio, NAD and Dali.
