Marantz has revealed its new Melody series of network, wireless, all-in-one music systems, comprising of two different systems; the Melody Media (M-CR611) and Melody Stream (M-CR511).
The two systems are designed to offer an all-in-one audio solution, with the ability to play from a wide variety of music sources.
Alongside support for popular music streaming services such as Spotify, Melody Media and Stream can playback music stored on a NAS or a computer, access Internet radio stations and even receive content via Apple Airplay.
Marantz is hoping to leverage its signature sound quality in an ‘easy-to-use’ mini system, complete with an eye-pleasing design.
Listeners will be able to control the Marantz Melody Media and Melody Stream through an App available for both iOS and Android.
Marantz is aiming the Melody Media and Stream at the ‘audio enthusiasts’, allowing playback of the latest 192KHz/24-bit high resolution digital audio formats, including ALAC, WAV, FLAC and AIFF files.
The Melody Media also offers support for DSD files and CD, DAB/DAB+ and FM radio playback, something not supported by the Melody Stream due to its slimmer profile.
Designed with ease of use in mind, these systems feature a one-push Wi-Fi connect and the Wi-Fi connection has even been upgraded to high speed 11n, for a faster and more reliable connection.
New Bluetooth with NFC boosts connectivity options further and iDevices can be hooked up via a front facing USB port, with the Melody Media offering an extra rear port for convenience.
The Melody Media also boasts two digital inputs for connection to a TV.
With 2x60W power output, the two network systems deliver a big sound for such compact systems, with the Melody Media offering a bi-amping option.
Elsewhere the amplifier is now powerful enough to handle difficult to drive speakers, such as those with a 4ohm rating.
The new acrylic top cover provides an anti-scratch coating to help keep the systems in pristine condition.
The front colour illumination on the Melody Media can also be changed to white, blue, green or orange for a customisable flourish.
