LG Releases Battery Powered Short Throw Home Theatre Projectors

The LG PH150GThe LG PH450U

LG has extended its line up of portable projectors with the introduction of the battery powered ultra short throw PH450U for the home cinema market and the smaller PH150G.

The larger of the two is the PH450U, which is capable of displaying an 80in HD (1280 X 720) image from a distance of 33cm (13in) from the screen – targeting spaces with limited viewing space.

The PH450U features a rechargeable 2.5 hour battery and can be set upright on one end to render images on any flat, horizontal surface, allowing customers to turn desks, tables or the floor into a movie screen.

Content also can be transferred to the unit via a HDMI cable with MHL capability or via a USB drive. The 450 lumens projector delivers a lamp life of up to 30,000 hours, giving viewers an estimated 10 years of high contrast (100,000:1) and LED colour viewing experiences.

Measuring half the size of the PH450U at 115 x 115 x 44.5mm and weighing 450g, the PH150G also takes on LG’s Triple Wireless feature for a viewing experience free of wired connections for power, audio and video source.

The PH450U will be available in Europe and North America in September while the PH150G will begin rolling out in Europe, North America and Asia with other markets to follow.
