Setting a new standard for architectural loudspeakers, KEF says the Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX combine high-performance engineering, elegant design and straightforward installation. Designed for both dedicated cinemas and multipurpose rooms, the speakers offer exceptional sound quality in a compact form.
12th Generation Uni-Q Driver Array with MAT
At the heart of both models sits KEF’s 12th generation Uni-Q driver array. Acting as a single point source, Uni-Q disperses sound evenly, ensuring consistent clarity and realism throughout the room. The speakers also incorporate KEF’s Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), a complex maze-like structure that absorbs 99% of unwanted sound from the rear of the tweeter, resulting in cleaner, more natural treble reproduction.
Room-Filling High-Fidelity Sound
The Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX both feature custom-designed 120mm bass drivers that deliver deep, controlled low frequencies with minimal distortion. The Ci5120QLM-THX includes four bass drivers, while the Ci3120QLM-THX uses two.
Additional refinements include KEF’s Flexible Decoupling Chassis, which reduces unwanted vibrations, and a redesigned tweeter gap damper that enhances detail and precision. The 3-way design and carefully tuned crossovers ensure each driver performs optimally, producing an impressively dynamic and natural sound.
Both models meet stringent THX certification standards for output, frequency response and distortion. The Ci5120QLM-THX achieves THX Certified Ultra status for large rooms, while the Ci3120QLM-THX carries the THX Certified Select designation for medium-sized spaces. Together, they deliver cinema-grade audio performance suited to music, movies, gaming and television.

Designed to blend effortlessly into interiors, the Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX feature KEF’s Ultra-Thin Bezel (UTB) for a near-invisible rim and paintable magnetic grilles for seamless integration. Both models are IP64 rated for splash and dust resistance, making them suitable for a wide variety of environments.
