KEF introduces Coda W

KEF has introduced Coda W, a refined all-in-one speaker that builds on the legacy of the original Coda series. Designed to bring turntables to life with clarity while offering seamless wireless streaming, Coda W blends KEF’s signature acoustic precision with modern usability.

“In designing the Coda W, our goal is to deliver the most authentic sound possible – the kind that forges an emotional connection,” says Grace Lo, President and Head of Global Marketing at KEF. “We created this speaker for those who love the ritual of vinyl – the magic of dropping a needle on a record. With Coda W, listeners can immerse themselves in the depth of their records, appreciating the richness and nuance in every note, then switch to streaming a new track seamlessly. It’s about rediscovering favourite songs like never before.”

Coda W is built around a large 5.25-inch 12th generation Uni-Q driver array, which delivers remarkably detailed performance. The technology positions the tweeter at the acoustic centre of the woofer, acting as a point source and recreating natural sound production. KEF says this ensures uniform dispersion throughout the room, producing a highly natural and immersive listening experience.

The speaker system offers a combined 200 watts of power, with dedicated amplifiers for the tweeter and woofer in both primary and secondary units. KEF’s Music Integrity Engine, a proprietary suite of DSP algorithms, is tuned specifically for Coda W, enhancing detail, accuracy, and overall sound integrity.

Coda W supports Bluetooth 5.4 aptX Adaptive, providing low-latency, high-quality audio, while the aptX Lossless codec reproduces CD-quality resolution up to 16-bit/44.1 kHz. KEF says this allows listeners to experience music with exceptional clarity and dynamic range, preserving the detail of every track.

Coda W is designed for vinyl enthusiasts. It features an integrated phono pre-amplifier compatible with almost any turntable, while also supporting RCA (LINE) input for turntables with built-in preamps. KEF says this flexibility allows listeners to enjoy the warmth and depth of their vinyl collections without additional equipment.

The speaker supports multiple input options including HDMI ARC for TV connection, USB Type-C for high-resolution computer audio up to 24-bit/192kHz, as well as RCA and optical inputs for CD players, Blu-ray players, and game consoles. A dedicated subwoofer output accommodates deeper bass, and the optional KW1 wireless subwoofer adapter enables a cable-free setup.

Coda W offers easy control via top-panel buttons and the KEF Connect App, which allows users to select EQ presets, manage speaker settings, update firmware, and explore features. KEF says the combination of physical and app-based controls makes operation simple and intuitive.

The speaker combines minimalist elegance with classic appeal, featuring clean lines and subtle detailing. KEF offers five finishes: Vintage Burgundy, Nickel Grey, Moss Green, Midnight Blue, and Dark Titanium, designed to integrate into a wide range of interiors while making a visual statement.

Coda W includes a standard 3-metre interspeaker cable, with the optional 8-metre C-Link cable for greater placement flexibility. Optional SQ1 floor stands provide stable, elevated positioning for optimal listening height.
