Apple employee and Beats 1 DJ Dr. Dre is set to release his first album in 15 years, dubbed Compton, and of course it will be exclusive to Apple Music.

Not only will it be exclusive to stream on Apple’s Spotify competitor, but it will also be available before it goes on general sale.

Dr. Dre’s ‘Compton’ will be available to stream from August 6 between 9PM ET and 12AM ET, for UK users that is 2PM and 5AM, respectively.

It has not yet been confirmed whether it will be available for streaming in the UK, although with the album being a soundtrack to ‘Straight Outta Compton’, which comes out in Blighty on August 28, it is likely.

Dr. Dre announced the new album on his Beats 1 radio show and it was always expected to be an Apple Music exclusive.

Andre Romelle Young, who is known by his stage name Dr. Dre, joined Apple joined Apple when the company acquired Beats, a joint venture between Andre and Jimmy Iovine, in August last year for $3 billion (£1.9 billion).
