Denon has announced the launch of the AVC-X6800H audio/video amplifier. Designed and manufactured to the highest standards in Japan, the maker says the AVC-X6800H uses the full suite of audio and video technologies to serve as the foundation for the ultimate home cinema.
This new introduction features 11.4 channels of amplification, 3D audio, 8K video and 205W per channel of Denon power to ensure a dynamic, highly detailed entertainment experience, says the maker. Additionally, the AVC-X6800H has added flexibility in preamplifier mode, with up to 13.4 channel processing.
8K video is supported on all seven HDMI inputs and two of the three outputs. With HLG, HDR, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR pass-through, there’s no need to worry about video compatibility or picture quality says Denon. The machine allows 8K picture quality on a 8K TV or projector and also supports both 8K pass-through and 8K upscaling of 4K content. Also on-board HDCP 2.3, the latest copy protection standard, for peace of mind when streaming copy protected content.
With HEOS Built-in, the AV amplifier can stream music wirelessly across compatible HEOS components from a variety of free and premium online streaming services. Consumers can also enjoy their favourite music in any room of the home wirelessly. Play the same song in every room or select a different song for each connected room via a variety of streaming sources. Installers or consumers can add Denon Home speakers to more rooms and control it all with the HEOS app.

Denon AV amplifiers also use the Audyssey suite of EQ software for set-up and calibration. With the supplied Audyssey measuring microphone, Audyssey measures all the speakers in the home cinema and tunes the AV amplifier to provide the smoothest, most optimal overall listening experience for the room. This AV amplifier supports Audyssey MultEQ XT32 and SubEQ HT, Audyssey’s highest room correction technology. The other supported Audyssey features are Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume and LFC (Low Frequency Containment).
It is also possible to go even further with the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app, going ‘under the hood’ to view and adjust settings for detailed tuning—giving the ability to customise the sound more precisely to the specific problems in any room and tailor the sound to personal preferences.
It is also possible to purchase a Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control license key to apply state-of-the-art, patented algorithms to analyse and digitally reduce room impact and enhance speaker performance.
Other features include the ability to save two speaker settings and switch between the two settings on the fly, giving users freedom to optimize the listening experience based on the content or listening environment.
The amplifier supports three-source, three-zones meaning users can drive three different zones with three different sources simultaneously, or all with the same source. Use the amplifier’s internal amplification configurable in the set up or use zone two and zone three pre-outs to connect with external amplifiers.
One of the HDMI outputs can be used as a second AV zone. Play favourite playlists in the living room, kitchen and patio, or owners can enjoy favourite movies or the latest episodes from your favourite TV series with surround sound on the TV while the amplifier plays HEOS music in other rooms.
