HDA’s uControl Remote and MHUB S were recognised at this year’s Smart Building Awards at EI Live! in Farnborough, securing two category wins and highlighting the company’s continued innovation in the smart home mid-market.
The wins included Best Dedicated Touch Screen or Controller, with the manufacturer’s uControl Remote taking the prize.
This marks the first award win for the uControl Remote, a milestone for HDA and a recognition of the extensive design and engineering effort behind the product. Praised for its form factor, intuitive features and unique approach, the uControl Remote provides an alternative control solution where traditional systems may be too costly or unnecessarily complex.
Designed for everyday AV, lighting and blind control, it reflects HDA’s mission to create products that serve the real needs of homeowners.

Meanwhile, the MHUB S won Best Matrix/Signal Management Product. This is the third consecutive year that MHUB S has won in this category.
Judges recognised MHUB S for its innovative design as a stackable, single-SKU system that scales easily and delivers objectively better picture quality compared to compressed AV over IP solutions. With uControl built in, MHUB S eliminates the need for a separate control layer, reducing installation costs by up to 50%.
This repeated success highlights HDA’s determination to push the boundaries of what a video matrix/distribution system can be. Rather than functioning as a “dumb switch,” MHUB S aims to integrate intelligence, control and value.
