Daniel J SaitEver since it launched into the CI space, Focal has been promising some outside speakers and so here they are with the shape of some additions to the 100 Series (Integration Collection).
Focal says thatwith the addition of these two attractive, highly-resistant loudspeakers (100OD6 and 100 OD8) users have the option of enjoying its signature sound onpatios and in their gardens.
Focal says it set out to deliver robust loudspeakers that would stand up to all weather conditions, so in addition to boasting a high-density, UV-treated Polypropylene damping cabinet, the 100 OD6 and 100 OD8 loudspeakers are IP66 certified. Focal says it is doubly proud of this achievement, since the 100 OD6 and 100 OD8 are the brand’s first products to obtain this certification.
Some of Focal’s exclusive technologies are showcased in the products,with an aluminium inverted dome tweeter for strong sound dispersion and abass/mid-range speaker driver with a waterproof Polypropylene cone andPolyglass treatment for definition.
The maker argues that the appeal extends beyond impressive performance as the 100 OD6 and 100 OD8 have high impedance (8ohms) and therefore offer the possibility of connecting two loudspeakers in parallel on the same amplifier output.
Easy Installation
100 OD6 and 100 OD8 are each equipped with a reinforced,notched assembly bracket made from solid, anti-rust Aluminium, and offers theoption to rotate the loudspeaker 180°.
Focal argues the product is therefore easier to install, as well as to position, either vertically or horizontally (rotating logo), depending on preference and the layout of the outdoor space. The grille and cabinet are available in black finish or white ready-to-paint finish. The speakers are available now and measure 8.8 × 10.1 × 12.6in for the 100 OD6 and 10.2 × 11 ×15.4in for the 100OD8.
