
Job Description: Sales Business Development Manager
Position Overview
IMP is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Business Development Manager to drive growth in the company’s residential team, supporting IMP’s brands within home automation, audio distribution, home cinema and decorative wiring and lighting markets. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales and business development, particularly within these specialised industries.

Key Responsibilities
- Market Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities within the home automation, AV, and decorative wiring and lighting sectors.
- Account Management: Manage and grow existing accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty while maximising revenue potential.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
- Project Management: Oversee larger projects, working closely with key decision-makers to ensure specifications are maintained through to final order.
- Networking: Attend industry exhibitions, seminars and networking events to promote IMP’s products and services and stay updated on market trends.
- Collaboration: Liaise with customers, suppliers and colleagues to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
- Reporting: Provide regular sales reports and market feedback to senior management to inform strategic decisions.

Experience and Skills
- Industry Experience: Must have experience and contact within any of the home automation, AV, decorative wiring or lighting sectors.
- Sales Expertise: Proven ability to develop both existing accounts and new business, with a strong track record of meeting sales targets.
- Technical Knowledge: Be technically minded and able to learn and adapt to developing technologies and products within the industry.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team while being self-motivated and driven.
- Professionalism: Be a professional salesperson with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Customer Focus: Strong customer focus with the ability to understand and meet client needs.
