Guy Singleton, Managing Director of Imagine This, has been awarded the Special Recognition accolade by CEDIA. The award was presented to Guy at this year’s CEDIA awards at the Gala Dinner held at the Guildhall in London.
Since joining the association in 2001, Guy has dedicated thousands of volunteer hours to CEDIA, working to develop industry recognised standards and share his technical expertise with others. He has served on the CEDIA Education Committee to help create the right resources and content for a range of CEDIA’s most successful training courses. He has also taught as a CEDIA instructor, both in the UK and further afield in Europe and India. In September, he will export his knowledge and expertise to American installers as part of the education programme at CEDIA Dallas and as a judge on the CEDIA US Awards.
Most recently, Guy dedicated more than 300 hours acting as a CEDIA’s representative on a committee for the Institute of Engineering & Technology. Compiling a new Code of Practice for Low and Extra Low Voltage Direct Current Power Distribution in Buildings, he ensured that the right standard was put in place to encourage best practice and deliver safe, effective and competent cabling in the building industry.
“I feel very honoured to be the recipient of the CEDIA Special Recognition Award this year,” comments Guy. “I proudly join a special group of distinguished winners, including Simon Buddle, Mike Beatty and Peter Aylett, who I have so much respect for. I felt genuinely overwhelmed at the kind words and handshakes that followed the award by my friends and industry peers. CEDIA does great work in the promotion of standards and education. To make this possible, there are many hardworking volunteers that dedicate their time freely behind the scenes, of which I am just one.”
