Focusing on key areas like how to create a clear business plan and forecast, Catherine shows how to map processes, improve efficiency and assess customer profitability.

The presentation will also explain how to create accurate budget forecasts and control costs as well as looking at ways to improve sales performance.

Catherine Machalinski: Profile

Entrepreneur Catherine Machalinski, 37, graduated from the University of Szczecin in 1996 with a Master Degree in Economics.

After graduating she began working as a product and sales manager for the whole country for a Polish importer company, quickly making her mark and becoming a main product manager for a wide range of industrial equipment at the age of 25.

In 2005 Catherine travelled to the UK and was soon in business as a finance director for a company in the UK’s construction industry, supplying labour for the likes of Balfour Beatty.

However, the credit crunch in 2008 saw Catherine wind the business up as the construction sector crashed spectacularly.

Catherine decided to put her mathematics degree to use and began CIMA course to become a chartered management accountant, despite being at the time pregnant with her first child.

She also took part in many courses offered by HMRC to familiarise herself with the UK tax system and then became CIMA qualified as she juggled single-motherhood and work.

Catherine started her own company, Prevail Accountancy in her adopted home town of Rochdale in 2007.

The business specialises in management consultancy and management accounting, helping small business to grow efficiently.

Catherine is also a growth accelerator coach for innovation, helping small businesses to implement changes and be more proactive in business.
