Elipson has announced the new W35 Xi and according to the maker, it is the ultimate evolution of its original W35 multi-room stereo speaker. Featuring improved sound quality and a full complement of connectivity, including Chromecast and AirPlay 2, the W35 Xi is now capable of high-quality audio playback from a phone, a tablet or a laptop. Wireless connectivity is the focus of the W35 Xi with the inclusion of Chromecast and AirPlay 2, alongside aptX HD Bluetooth capability, making this a flexible and elegant solution for wireless streaming music, says Elipson. Additionally, improvements to the acoustic design now bring clearer and more precise high and mid-range tones whilst staying true to the original minimalist design of a woofer and tweeter on each side of the speaker, giving a truly stereophonic configuration from a single unit.
Amplification remains Elipson’s proven Class-D amplifier that provides up to 350W RMS, more than enough to fill even the largest rooms. In addition to its wireless capabilities, the W35 Xi retains all the functionality of its predecessor and continues to feature wired options with an RJ45 socket for connected streaming along with digital (S/PDIF Optical) and analogue inputs (3.5mm mini-jack AUX). Streaming platforms such as Qobuz, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer and Internet Radio are also available, or you can stream from your stored music files.
Operation is via the dedicated Elipson Connect app, making the W35 Xi easy to control and integrate into a stand-alone listening environment or within a dedicated multi-room Elipson network.
Finished in Deep black, the W35 Xi is available in the UK at an MSRP of £699 (€699). A specially designed black tripod stand is available at £149 for an added stylish integration into your living room. Additional flexible mounting options are also available for it.
