Fresh from wining the Smart Building Award for Best Training Initiative, Crestron has announced another successful event for 2018.
Taking place over two continents, across six days and involving 1,200 top Crestron programmers, this year’s initiative delivered 42 unique training classes and more than 200 sessions.
The exclusive invitation-only annual conference offers Crestron Certified Programmers the opportunity to stay on top of the latest Crestron technology and industry best practices through a wide choice of training classes, networking and sharing knowledge with other industry professionals.
This year’s events where held at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut in April and the Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam in May. Of the over 1,200 premier Crestron Programmers attending, 228 were Master Technology Architects.
“Crestron Masters is all about a community, learning and collaborating and having a good time. Crestron Certified Programmers have a common passion for our industry which took this event to the next level”, says Robin van Meeuwen, CEO and President Crestron EMEA.
Rich Sasson, director, global technical services Crestron adds: “ For the first time in 18 years, the Crestron Masters was expanded to include the top design engineers in the industry, offering the new addition of a Master Technology Architect (MTA) certification program. The new MTA certification for systems technology designers recognises the very highest level of expertise in Crestron system design and deployment.”

Of those making the time to attend, Nathaniel Mason, design manager, Environ Audio Limited, says, “The Masters give us a unique opportunity to network with other individuals from the industry as well as to keep up to date with the latest product and company announcements. Everything has been so useful. It helps to reinforce our knowledge base as well as improving our knowledge on products that we already knew a little bit about.”
Vlad Vieru, AV systems designer, Environ Audio Limited, adds, “Everything is useful, we have been working with Crestron for so many years, it is good to keep up to date with the latest products and training.”
As far as next projects goes, the Environ team have couple in the pipeline, one being a large residential project in London that will feature DigitalMedia with TSR-310’s, integrated lighting and heating and Crestron Shading.
Cliff Stammers, head of operations, Avande Connect, was also positive about the event, saying, “It helps you keep up to date with new developments and events, it is also great for networking.
“I have found the way Crestron has pointed out that the product is moving on from hardware into software, becoming more of an IT product as opposed to just an AV one. It’s been great to pick up on that first hand. The way Crestron is entering into IT is very significant, it’s going to open the product up to so many more people.”
