Cinema Luxe has been shortlisted for prestigious home cinema category in the Design & Architecture Awards 2025 with Kingswood Home Cinema.
Cinema Luxe has been shortlisted for the Home Cinema Award at the International Design & Architecture Awards 2025, thanks to its private cinema project in Kingswood, Surrey. The news comes following a win for the company in 2024 in the same category for its Buzzards Road project.
This new and meticulously designed space showcases how a home cinema can deliver exceptional performance while maintaining a strong sense of style and elegance. Blending 1930s Art Deco influences with contemporary detailing, the room was created in response to a brief that called for both visual refinement and high-performance audio-visual capabilities, say the award’s organisers.
To meet the acoustic and architectural challenges of the space, Cinema Luxe reconfigured the front and rear walls to discreetly integrate subwoofers, enhancing sound delivery without disrupting the room’s aesthetic. These adjustments were made in partnership with Cre8tive Rooms and speaker specialist Artcoustic, ensuring that audio performance was optimised across every seat.

Making its mark
A standout element of the project is the careful concealment of technical systems. Acoustically transparent silk wall treatments and bespoke joinery house advanced AV components, allowing the design to remain clean and uncluttered. Seating upholstered in tactile bouclé fabric sits on a custom-built rear riser, improving both comfort and sightlines.
Elegant antiqued mirrors on the rear wall and stage risers subtly expand the visual space while nodding to Art Deco glamour. Cut-glass and marble lighting fixtures introduce a soft, warm glow, further elevating the room’s luxury feel. These elements are all integrated with a Savant control system and Lutron lighting, making the space as practical as it is attractive.
Cinema Luxe says its approach deliberately avoids the overly thematic or theatrical, opting instead for quiet luxury through premium materials and carefully curated detailing. The result is a cinema that serves not only as a technically advanced entertainment room, but also as an enriching part of the client’s home environment.
Winners and details of this year’s awards ceremony will be announced later in the year.
