CEDIA has revealed that Richard Hollinshead of Meridian and Stephen Auld of Dolby Europe will be the keynote speakers for its upcoming Tech Forums, taking place at the Hilton in Bristol (April 20) and the Novotel London West, London (May 17).

As CTO of Meridian, Richard will present a talk on High Res Audio in Bristol. He will outline the science behind the concept and explain the opportunity for installers to deliver premium audio quality for their clients in a range of different room settings.

Stephen, senior manager, broadcast and licensing at Dolby Europe will focus on Dolby Vision, a new TV experience offering High Dynamic Range (HDR) at the London event. He will look at the key features and benefits of this state-of-the-art technology now available to installers and their clients, including dramatic imaging, the darkest blacks and the widest array of colours never before seen on a TV in the home.

“We are delighted to welcome Richard and Stephen as our keynote speakers at these first two Tech Forums of the year,” says Matt Nimmons, CEDIA’s operations director.

“High Res Audio and High Dynamic Range are two major technology trends driving our industry. These talks will allow home technology professionals a rare insight into the thinking of leading brands in both fields which will help to deepen their understanding and add value to their businesses.”

CEDIA Tech Forums are free to attend events for home technology professionals, comprising a series of one-hour Manufacturer Product Training sessions. Each keynote talk will take place at the end of the day.

Industry sponsors for the Bristol Tech Forum who will be providing training sessions include Anthem, AWE, Connected Distribution Ltd, Habitech, HDAnywhere, Invision, Just Add Power, Lutron EA, Teleste and Wyrestorm.

Further Tech Forums are scheduled to take place in Edinburgh, Manchester and Dublin later in 2016.
