CEDIA Champions Smart Home Day 2025

CEDIA has announced it will lead Smart Home Day on November 3, 2025, with the goal of raising global awareness of the professional smart home industry.

This year’s event highlights the crucial relationship between integrators and the design and build community, showcasing how collaboration benefits both trades and their clients.

Smart Home Day 2025 will feature a range of resources and activities designed to educate, connect and inspire professionals across both sectors.

The programme offers a wealth of opportunities for the design and build community, including:

  • Webinars and video demonstrations covering current smart home technologies and the advantages of specifying a CEDIA member.
  • Community-based workshops and demo sessions, giving attendees the chance to interact with smart home solutions and meet local integrators.
  • New joint research from CEDIA and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA)/Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) on integrating technology into modern homes.
  • A live RIBA + CEDIA Summit featuring case studies, product demos and future-facing conversations between architects and integrators.
  • Editorial content exploring integration trends and opportunities.
  • Curated inspiration galleries that highlight the design possibilities of smart home technology.

To help integrators make the most of the occasion, CEDIA is providing:

  • A customisable toolkit with social media graphics, email templates and outreach suggestions.
  • Guidance for opening showrooms or running in-person events in collaboration with design professionals.
  • Advice on building long-term partnerships with architects, designers and builders.
  • A dedicated session at CEDIA Expo outlining how to maximise the benefits of participating in Smart Home Day.

“Smart home integrators are indispensable collaborators in the residential design process but are often brought in late to a project or treated as an afterthought,” says Daryl Friedman, global president and CEO of CEDIA. “The 2025 edition of Smart Home Day will raise awareness to related trades about the value to their clients of using a professional integrator to create technology experiences that seamlessly complement a home’s aesthetics and functionality.”

The initiative is just one element of CEDIA’s ongoing work to promote the integration profession. The association is also running a consumer-facing awareness campaign, has partnered with NKBA|KBIS for research into smart home trends, and continues to advocate for the industry through events such as CEDIA on the Hill Day.
