CEDIA has revealed its chosen charity for this year’s awards, with WaterAid receiving £5 from the sale of each ticket.
WaterAid’s main goal is to improve access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation for some of the world’s poorest communities.
“WaterAid has already helped over 21 million people worldwide and we are very proud to be able to help their continued efforts with donations from the CEDIA awards this year,” explains Wendy Griffiths, executive director of CEDIA EMEA.
“Access to clean water is something many of us take for granted, but for around 748 million people, it is a basic need that is very hard to source. The money we raise this year will undoubtedly have a profound effect on a great number of lives within the world’s poorest communities.”
The CEDIA Awards 2015 will take place at the Natural History Museum in London, with over 350 guests expected to attend the who’s who event of the industry.
“It’s always a great pleasure to welcome new supporters of WaterAid and we are delighted that CEDIA has chosen to help us achieve our vision of a world where everyone everywhere has access to safe, clean water and improved sanitation,” says Marcus Missen, communications and fundraising director at WaterAid.
“These basic necessities help people take their first steps out of poverty, and so the money raised really will help transform lives.”
The CEDIA Awards black tie event is being held on July 3, with early bird tickets priced at £140 per person for members and £175 per person for non-members.
Those wishing to attend can get the early bird prices before May 22.
