Prove your humanity

CEDIA has revealed that its 2015 Awards successfully raised £4,435 – its largest amount raised by the event to date – for its nominated charity, WaterAid.

More than 400 industry professionals joined CEDIA to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its annual Awards on July 3 at a black-tie dinner held in the Hintze Hall of the Natural History Museum, London.

As part of the evening, CEDIA invited guests to support a raffle with all prizes donated by CEDIA member companies.

In addition, CEDIA donated £5 from the sale of every ticket to WaterAid, totalling over £2,000.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our industry that resulted in raising the biggest amount ever for our chosen charity to date,” comments Wendy Griffiths, executive director of CEDIA EMEA.

“We thank everyone who donated prizes, bought tickets and helped raise this substantial sum of money for WaterAid.

“The lack of safe water and sanitation across the world continues to cause mass suffering and we are proud that our donations from the CEDIA Awards will contribute to fighting this global crisis.”

Prizes at the event were donated by the following companies:

Aldous Systems (Europe) Ltd
AWE
B&W Group
Habitech Ltd
Invision UK
Ivory Egg
Pulse Cinemas
Rako Controls
Sonos UK
WyreStorm Technologies

Barbara Frost, chief executive at WaterAid, says: “On behalf of everyone here at WaterAid, I’d like to thank CEDIA for choosing to support our life-saving work for its 10th industry Awards Dinner.

“It is a wonderful achievement to have raised £4,500 in support of WaterAid’s work.

“It can cost just £15 to get clean water to one person, so the money raised really will help transform lives in some of the world’s poorest communities.

“We are very lucky that our vision of a world where everyone has access to safe, clean water and improved sanitation is supported by so many across the world.”

This year’s CEDIA Awards attracted over 120 entries from 17 different countries, all competing for the best media room, home cinema, integrated home, super yacht and other category prizes.

The winners and highly commended projects have been captured in the CEDIA Awards 2015 yearbook which is available to download from www.cediaawards.org.

AMX, ELAN, Indigo Distribution, Kaleidescape, LILIN, Origin Acoustics, Pulse Cinemas and Rako all supported this year’s event as sponsors.

After the ceremony, attendees celebrated the night’s events at the after party, hosted by Artcoustic, at the Natural History Museum.
