PureLink Launches PureInstall Micro Coax USB-C cable range which the company claims is set to redefine passive USB-C connectivity up to 5.00 metres
With the PureInstall MicroX4 range, PureLink expands its USB-C product portfolio with a fresh professional-grade micro coax solution designed for high-performance, passive transmission across extended distances. Offering up to 5.00 metres of reliable signal transmission for data, video, audio and power, the MicroX4 range combines USB4 Gen2x2 bandwidth, micro coax cable construction, triple shielding, mechanical durability and versatile locking features.

Range and Configurations
The MicroX4 product range includes:
- Straight and 90° angled (up/down and left/right) USB-C male-to-male cables
- USB-C male-to-female extensions
- Straight and 90° angled (up/down and left/right) USB-C Portsavers
- Length options from 0.50m up to 5.00m
- Colour-coded locking clips
For Demanding ProAV Environments
In contrast to conventional twisted pair constructions, MicroX4 cables rely on an advanced micro-coaxial design with silver-plated conductors and triple shielding. The company says this significantly reduces electromagnetic interference and signal attenuation, while providing outstanding mechanical flexibility and bend resistance.
The cables deliver up to 20Gbps (USB4 Gen2x2), support 8K video via DisplayPort Alt-Mode, ultra-fast data transmission and Extended Power Range (EPR) charging of up to 240W (48V / 5A).
Passive, Universal and Future-Proof
Thanks to their fully passive architecture, MicroX4 cables are universally compatible and require no active electronics – ensuring maximum reliability and interoperability across a wide range of USB-C devices. Each cable features an intelligent e-marker chip that manages power requirements, Alt-Mode negotiation and backwards compatibility with legacy equipment.
Innovative Locking Mechanisms
MicroX4 sets a new standard with two proprietary locking systems:
- SLS (Secure-Lock-System): Integrated retention for semi-permanent use and 25N holding force (only available for PI6500)
- TLS (Tru-Lock-System): Optional removable screw-lock with up to 80N retention – available in multiple colours for easy identification on-site
These solutions ensure robust connections in mission-critical AV environments such as rack installations, video conferencing systems and live event setups. All variants offer silver-plated copper conductors for minimal resistance, micro-coax technology for reduced crosstalk, and are fully backward compatible with USB 3.x and 2.0.
