Blok Introduces Stax 2G, Advanced Hi-Fi Furniture

The all-new Blok Stax 2G is engineered to ensure Hi-Fi systems are allowed to perform at their optimal levels, while also offering an elegantly modernist design that looks great no matter the environment says thier creator.

Blok is proud to announce the launch of its new, totally reimagined collection of Stax 2G high-fidelity furniture. Stax 2G has been birthed to provide the perfect platform for electronics and turntables to perform at their very best, while its uniquely British, elegantly modernist aesthetic and modular design deliver unrivaled flexibility, says the company.

Behind Stax 2G’s elegant, good looks lies a wealth of acoustic technology designed to maximise performance. Both shelves and supports have been engineered to deliver optimal isolation and the structure is fillable with inert acoustic material for even greater damping.

Blok’s attention to detail is present in each and every aspect of Stax 2G, with intuitive, uncomplicated assembly, hidden secure fixings, smart isolation and adjustable feet. A choice of contemporary finishes allows Stax 2G to integrate seamlessly into any interior space and there is also room for LP storage.

No matter what equipment is placed on Stax 2G, and whatever finish is selected, its underlying quality offers un-rivalled levels of support and helps drive your system towards the Holy Grail of truly exceptional high-fidelity performance argues the maker.

Stax 2G features concealed rubber bungs within in the supports that carry the weight of the shelves and the equipment that sits on them. These small, flush-fitting bungs can be removed to allow the supports to be mass-loaded with inert acoustic material, allowing the supports to become heavier, for greater structural rigidity of the entire unit, while also greatly reducing the vibration and resonances that might occur within a serious high-fidelity music system.

Silicon isolation pads are integrated between each shelf and into the base of the support structure. These carefully selected pads ensure that shelf absorption works at its most optimum, reducing resonances and vibration being carried through the shelves, so that all the listner hears is the high-fidelity sound of the system components.

Stax 2G utilises a bespoke foot design that facilitates quick and easy height adjustment. It also allows users to select spikes or rubber feet, depending on the surface upon which it is placed. The intuitive foot design ensures that Stax 2G can be levelled exactly, delivering a perfectly flat base for the high-fidelity equipment placed on it.

Designed and engineered at the maker’s UK headquarters in Rayleigh, Essex, UK, Stax 2G reinvigorates the modernist appeal of Stax in a manner that’s completely sympathetic to the original, iconic design. Stax 2G’s unique visual identity is enhanced with the introduction of three contemporary finishes: black glass with high-gloss black supports, natural ash plywood with satin white supports and a subtle black ash plywood with natural walnut supports.

This use of modern finishes ensures that Stax 2G allows customers a degree of flexibility when matching not only what gets positioned on the unit, but also the environment it sits within.

Stax 2G is available with a choice of two types of shelves. A sleek tempered glass shelf finished in black or a modern plywood shelf, which is available in either a natural ash, or black ash veneer.

Each of the shelves has been chosen for their load strength and inherently positive acoustic properties, along with their physical design aesthetics – so that whatever electronics or source equipment is placed on them, they’ll remain completely rigid.

The all-new Stax 2G is built upon Monitor Audio Group’s R&D philosophy of maintaining a balance between design and technology. One is never allowed to overpower the other and both play a vital role in delivering on a promise of musical neutrality and acoustic transparency. The physical designs need to sit comfortably within their environment. They are a beautiful statement, but one where perfectly balanced design neutrality means they will blend in for a lifetime of use.

The company call this its Transparent Design Philosophy, and every Monitor Audio Group product is the result of this collaboration, drawing on decades of experience within the design team and ensuring that all the elements of performance, technology, and design work in harmony. Stax 2G is the physical manifestation of this approach.

•        Acoustically mass-fillable shelf supports adds significant mass to the individual shelf supports to prevent vibrational effects and reduce resonances.

•        Isolation pads ensure shelf vibration is heavily reduced and managed effectively.

•        Adjustable feet ensure a perfectly level platform.

•        Veneered plywood shelves with high loading weights, while the multiple layers of plywood also have inherently positive acoustic properties.

•        Thick, tempered glass shelves offer high levels of strength with no fatigue or sagging over time.

•        A choice of utterly contemporary finishes allows Stax 2G to integrate seamlessly into any interior space.

•        Modular design: Variable shelf heights provide long-term flexibility.
