Daniel J SaitUK based distributor AWE will be opening the doors to its newly updated smart apartment in Epsom for an Autumn Smart Home Expo.
The company will be inviting integrators, electricians, aerial installers and retailers to the event to explains company developments and new product launches.
Since opening the AWE Smart Apartment in 2014, AWE has updated the showroom on a regular basis and visitors to the event will witness the latest developments, which include several new interactive spaces that will provide visitors with a real-world smart home experience. The new areas include a smaller cinema room featuring Definitive Technology loudspeakers, full details of which will be announced nearer the event.
Together with the existing upgraded areas, the show apartment is designed to provide AWE’s dealers with a smart environment to engage their staff and clients, helping to learn about and promote the products and technologies on show.
As always, AWE will be showcasing a range of solutions from its portfolio.
New control fresh from the US launch at the CEDIA Expo in San Diego, URC Total Control 2.0 will take centre stage and will be shown in the UK for the first time. Total Control 2.0 has been tweaked to bring greater flexibility, a more attractive aesthetic and faster, higher performance operation to create a better user experience. This software platform will be complemented by other URC products, including the more mainstream MX HomePro system, which has an SRP of just £399.

AWE will also be showcasing products from its new distribution partnerships.
AWE recently secured the exclusive UK distribution of Definitive Technology’s Mythos and Custom Installation collections of loudspeakers. Definitive Technology loudspeakers are created to combine sophistication and precision, producing on-wall, architectural, floorstanding, bookshelf and outdoor speakers, alongside both in-wall and freestanding subwoofers.
Brand new for the Smart Home Expo is the news that AWE will be exclusively distributing the range of luxury mirror, bathroom and outdoor televisions from Videotree. The company’s versatile install televisions are designed to be attractive but have the toughness to take on a variety of environments.
With more and more customers turning to technology integrators for shading solutions, AWE has strengthened its product offering in this area and will be displaying these options too. AWE says QMotion wire-free blinds are quick to install and integrate, and boast a wide variety of fabrics, as well as dual opaque and blackout shades, whilst the Silent Gliss range features premium motorised curtains, blinds, blackout solutions and sliding partition systems. AWE offers its customers a both fully integrated and retrofit smart lighting control solutions, thanks to Philips Dynalite and Philips Hue. The showroom highlights how Philips Hue can be installed independently to good effect, or integrated within the Philips Dynalite lighting control system to deliver advanced automation options.

Screen time
AWE has built a deserved reputation for delivering some of the top TVs around and the event will showcase the impressive 100in Sony ZD9 4K HDR TV. The ZD9 was created to deliver on size without compromising design, or most importantly, picture quality.
The ZD9 will be complemented by the Sony A1 OLED. Loewe will be showing its bild 5 OLED screen, which is fully controllable, 4K HDR, has a customisable homepage and a uniquely modular design. All this at a competitive SRP from just £2,990.
Elsewhere in the show apartment, visitors will see the Panasonic EZ1002 Master OLED TV, Samsung QLED screens and the LG65in SIGNATURE OLED TV W, known as the wallpaper screen, as it literally sticks to the wall with magnets.

Audio HEOS By Denon will be out in force, with the new AVR, Drive, Soundbar, Subwoofer, Speakers, Amp, Link and Home Cinema all on display. Alongside the Denon and Marantz AVRs which now all have HEOS technology built in, the rapidly expanding range of HEOS products form a comprehensive multi-room audio system.
