ASCENDO Immersive Audio announces the premiere of its THE8 PRO PASSIVE LED WEDGE speaker at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026 in Barcelona.

The new model is designed to deliver high-performance immersive audio in LED video environments where space is limited including home cinema rooms, premium screening rooms and post-production facilities.

Developed specifically for use with LED walls, THE8 PRO addresses the growing challenge of delivering reference-level sound as screens become larger and shallower and available space above and below the image continues to shrink. ASCENDO says the design allows dialogue to remain locked to the picture with precise pans and effortless dynamics across the listening area rather than just a single sweet spot.

The shallow enclosure is shaped to integrate cleanly into modern architectural designs, enabling wall-to-wall LED screens without compromising audio performance. Height is kept intentionally low while still delivering high sound pressure levels and control, says the company.

“We used to compromise: make the screen as big and beautiful as possible and accept ‘good enough’ sound. With THE8 PRO, we didn’t have to. It disappears into the architecture—and then hits you with the kind of clarity and impact that gives you goosebumps,” says Geoffrey Heinzel, co-managing partner of ASCENDO.

THE8 PRO expands ASCENDO’s range of LED-focused loudspeakers, joining models such as THE DIRECTOR and THE10 PASSIVE LED PHANTOM.

Built around ASCENDO’s point-source coaxial design heritage and the multi-entry waveguide concept introduced with THE HALO 10, THE8 PRO is designed to behave as a true point source. Mid and high frequencies share a single waveguide, delivering consistent timing on and off axis and improved directivity through the crossover region. ASCENDO says this results in anchored dialogue, believable pans and a cohesive front soundstage that translates reliably across seating positions.

Dispersion is rated at 100° horizontally and 60° vertically and is combined with a 12-degree wedge geometry. When mounted above the screen the speaker naturally fires downward and when mounted below it fires upward, focusing energy into the listening area rather than ceilings and floors. ASCENDO says this configuration supports typical cinema and screening rooms of up to around three seating rows and approximately 15 metres deep.

In LED installations where a physical centre speaker cannot be placed behind the image, THE8 PRO can be used in top-and-bottom configurations to create a stable phantom centre image at the screen location, supported by the coherent timing of the point-source design.

The speaker features a horizontal D’Appolito-style woofer layout with dual high-power 8-inch woofers flanking a central coaxial 8-inch point source. The woofers cover roughly 75–250 Hz, adding low-frequency authority while maintaining consistent coverage.

THE8 PRO PASSIVE LED WEDGE is a three-way passive design with a quoted frequency response of 75 Hz to 20 kHz and a maximum SPL of up to 131 dB. ASCENDO positions the speaker as suitable for both cinematic impact and critical listening applications where clarity and headroom are essential.

Integration is designed to be straightforward, with keyhole hangers for horizontal or vertical mounting, side V-brackets for wall or ceiling installation with precise aiming and an invisible 90-degree bayonet-style mounting option for tight installations where screens are already in place. A recessed cable groove accommodates SpeakON connections while allowing the enclosure to sit flush to the wall.

Although developed for LED wall applications, ASCENDO says the speaker’s controlled coverage and compact form also make it suitable for use with non-acoustically transparent screens as well as roles such as top speakers, surrounds, high surrounds, studios and other reference-grade immersive environments.

ISE 2026 attendees can experience THE8 PRO at the Luxury Immersion Cinema on stand #2J500.
