MOTIV announced its arrival into the smart home market with appearances at to two major events; ISE and Light + Build.
When a new brand enters the market, first impressions matter. For MOTIV, the debut could hardly have been more striking. Its very first public appearance took place at one of the world’s most influential technology fairs: Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026 in Barcelona. From the moment the doors opened, it was clear that MOTIV was not just participating — it was making a statement. The company also made a big splash at Light + Building 2026 in Frankfurt.
Eyecatcher at ISE 2026
MOTIV presented itself with a stand that immediately drew attention for its refined, architectural design. The stand’s clean lines, balanced proportions and carefully selected materials echoed the design language of the brand’s new smart home interfaces: Sense3 and Touch10.
That harmony between product and environment did not go unnoticed. MOTIV and Niko were awarded 1st Runner Up in the Best Design Award – Medium Stand category, a recognition granted by Exhibitor Magazine’s Stand Design Awards. With more than 1,700 exhibitors competing, this was no small achievement.
The stand embodied the same principles that define MOTIV’s products:
- Minimalist, timeless shapes
- High-quality materials and finishes
- Interactive zones that allowed visitors to experience the products as they would in real homes and buildings
It was a perfect extension of the brand’s philosophy: technology that blends into life rather than shouting for attention.
A Portfolio That Bridges Design And Technology
ISE 2026 marked the first public presentation of MOTIV’s new interfaces. Sense3 impressed visitors with its elegant design and smart feedback system, enabling flexible programming without engraving. Touch10 stood out with its intuitive interface and built-in energy dashboard, offering installers and end users a clear, accessible way to manage their home’s energy flows.
These new interfaces were showcased alongside the technological backbone that powers them: Niko Home Control. Installers could also discover the Niko Rocker and Niko Toggle for Niko Home Control, familiar faceplate designs enriched with smart functionality. Together, they formed a complete ecosystem where MOTIV’s refined design meets Niko’s proven reliability.
The reception was overwhelmingly positive. Installers, integrators and designers praised the combination of aesthetics, usability and future-proof engineering. For a brand’s first public outing, it was an ideal start.

Rooted In The 1920’s, Designed For Tomorrow
Behind MOTIV lies more than a century of expertise. Since the early 1920s, Niko has shaped the way people live and work with electrical infrastructure, from porcelain switches to today’s intelligent ecosystems. MOTIV builds on that legacy, combining Niko Home Control’s robust smart home platform with a distinctive focus on design and user experience.
The brand is rooted in Belgian craftsmanship, where thoughtful design, precision engineering and a pragmatic approach to quality come together naturally. MOTIV’s design language is inspired by nature and everyday life: subtle light changes, familiar gestures and quiet moments. The result is technology that feels instinctive, calm and effortless.
MOTIV’s interfaces are more than beautiful objects. They are intuitive touchpoints, purpose-built for seamless integration with Niko Home Control and other systems such as KNX or Control4.
Light + Building 2026
After a strong debut at ISE, MOTIV and Niko prepared for their next major appearance: Light + Building 2026 in Frankfurt. From 8 to 13 March, Wygwam (a division of Niko NV) and MOTIV presented their latest innovations in Hall 11.1, Stand D89.
Visitors experienced solutions that bring intelligent lighting and automation together, including:
- Intelligent lighting management for commercial buildings
- Human-centred lighting control for individual rooms
- Connected lighting systems for modern workplaces
- Building automation solutions that enhance comfort and energy efficiency
These technologies show how smart connectivity and lighting can support a sustainable transformation without compromising usability or design.
A Promising Start For A Brand With A Clear Vision
ISE 2026 marked the beginning of MOTIV’s journey, and the response confirmed that the market is ready for a brand where refined design and intelligent technology go hand in hand. With Sense3, Touch10 and the strength of Niko Home Control behind it, MOTIV is poised to shape the next chapter of smart living.
If the first chapter is any indication, installers can expect a future where technology becomes more subtle, smarter and more beautifully integrated than ever.
Whether an installer, integrator or designer, MOTIV offers future-proof interfaces that combine design, flexibility and proven reliability.
