The Ritz-Carlton Reserve’s first resort in Saudi Arabia, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, has installed Vimar’s Eikon series to meet the demands for sophistication and elegance.
Nujuma is nestled in an unspoilt corner of the Red Sea, among the natural islands north of Umluj, in a landscape accessible only by boat or seaplane.
Designed by the firm Foster and Partners, the architectural concept draws inspiration from the shapes of seashells, using natural materials in soft hues that echo the colours of the sea and sand. The 65 villas, shell-like in shape, emerge from the Ummahat archipelago: some are set directly on the beach, while others are suspended over the water on stilts, linked by loop-shaped walkways, ensuring direct, private access to the sea.
Within this exclusive setting, Vimar’s Eikon series was selected to meet the demands. Specifically, the Eikon Evo and Exé models give each environment a unique personality for energy management.
The design of Eikon Evo, chosen in the brushed dark bronze finish in keeping with the warm tones of the sand, features a sleek, custom-made black frame, matching the controls.
To evoke the purity of the sea, the Eikon Exé series was indispensable, featuring a white total look finish. A cover plate with squared and striking silhouettes, providing the perfect combination of precision technology and impeccable craftsmanship, available in a variety of materials and prized finishes, from stone, to metal and glass.
With over 200 functions based on international product standards, Eikon Exé can offer numerous solutions for system customisation.
Conceived as a zero-impact resort, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, was constructed using wood and rope, chosen not only for their sustainable nature but also for their ability to minimise waste and noise. These materials, pre-fabricated elsewhere and assembled on-site, allow for environmentally respectful construction.
However, the resort’s true exceptional feature lies in its reversibility: it has been engineered to be completely dismantled without leaving a trace or causing damage to the ecosystem.
