Tascam has added two new models to its growing range of microphones – TM-200SG and TM-250U.

The new TM-200SG represents the videographer’s choice for recording audio in the field. As a compact, highly directional shotgun microphone with a frequency response from 30 Hz to 20 kHz, this microphone is exceptionally well suited for vlogging, video shooting, plus other applications where built-in mics aren’t an option.

The phantom-powered TM-200SG delivers high-quality, mix-ready audio with minimal visual intrusion due to its relatively small but rugged housing. It is lightweight and easy to handle. Featuring super cardioid directivity, this microphone focuses on the desired audio while minimizing unwanted ambient sounds – resulting in minimal clean-up in post-production. There is also a switchable low-cut filter for easy reduction of environmental noise like wind and hum.

The Tascam TM-200SG ships with windscreen, shoe-mount clip, and protective soft case – everything required to quickly and easily set up in the field and capture audio right away.

The Tascam TM-250U is a USB microphone with built-in headphones amplifier that is said to be ideal for podcasting, video conferencing and other online applications as well as vocal and music recording. Featuring a super cardioid polar pattern and a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, Tascam’s mic delivers crisp, accurate audio straight to personal computers or mobile devices via USB. Users can also use the built-in headphones amplifier with dedicated volume control to listen to the computer’s audio output (direct monitoring). A mic Gain knob and a Mute button are also available.

The TM-250U is USB class compliant, so it does not require a special driver, and is powered via the USB connection. It ships with a microphone holder, a USB C-to-A cable and a desktop stand to quickly and easily set up at one’s desktop and immediately start streaming and/or recording.

The TM-200SG has the SRP of £150.00 / €165.00 and the TM-250U has the SRP of £99.00 / €109.00.  Both microphones are available during April 2021.
