Aura has announced its acquisition of Reflex, the award-winning full-service audio-visual integrator. The addition of Reflex to the Aura fold represents the next stage of growth for the leading workspace technology solutions specialist, which was formed in March 2020 through the merger of two independent businesses, Karlson and Intevi, with the backing of global private equity firm Baird Capital.

Established in 1983, Reading-based Reflex is well-known in the industry for being at the forefront of AV innovation, with capabilities that encompass every part of the design, specification, installation and support process. Over almost 40 years, the company has grown its strong reputation through a focus on bringing new solutions to market, adapting to industry changes, and delivering an exceptional end-to-end customer experience.

It’s this forward-thinking, flexible and customer-orientated approach that makes Reflex such a good fit for the Aura brand. “I’m delighted to welcome the Reflex team into our organisation,” says Alpesh Unalkat, Aura’s CEO. “Their specialist expertise and excellent reputation across the higher education, public sector and corporate markets further strengthens Aura’s integrated offering and capabilities, and lays the groundwork for our future growth. It’s an exciting time for the business. The pandemic has accelerated interest in hybrid working, and across all sectors there’s an increasing emphasis on strategies that connect physical and digital workspaces for better productivity, collaboration and economy – and, ultimately, profitability.”

“We’ve had numerous approaches over the years, but Aura is the first business that felt like a natural fit, and that would enable our team to keep doing what they do best – providing an exemplary end-to-end AV integration service,” adds William Jepps, Managing Director at Reflex. “Aura’s strong values and culture, not to mention their staff satisfaction survey results and focus on professional development, were strong deciding factors. I’m looking forward to this next chapter for our business, as it promises to be a very positive time of growth for us all.”
