Optoma has launched a new range of portable projectors for businesses and education applications. Designed to replace legacy LCD projectors with a similar throw, the six new models (EH400+, EH400, W400+, W400, X400+ and X400) offer a maximum of 4,000 lumens and long lamp life, with the overall aim of providing a low overall cost of ownership.

Ranging in price from £449.99 to £749.99, the range is targeted towards professional users who want higher quality images for both data and video and a level of brightness suitable for almost any meeting room. Added to that, they have similar throw ratios to old LCD projectors, making it easy for businesses to swap over.

“All models have Eco+ modes for energy saving and an exceptional lamp life of 10,000 hours for added savings,” says Joe Ahmed, head of marketing at Optoma EMEA. “And because they are installed with DLP technology, their image quality and brightness will not degrade over time.”

Convenient with multiple inputs including HDMI and MHL, these projectors are suitable for connecting HDMI dongles such as the Google Chromecast and the Optoma HDCast Pro enabling users to connect to laptops, PCs or Blu-ray players.

The 400+ series features two HDMI inputs and two VGA inputs, making switching between sources easy, whilst networking capabilities make it easy to manage the projectors remotely via RJ45. The 400+ series comes complete with a built-in speaker that delivers 10W audio.
