Optoma has announced two new short throw projectors designed for corporate use. The two new projectors promise high brightness, with 3,600 lumens offered by both, as well as a choice of two resolutions – WXGA or XGA. For the former you’ll be looking at the Optoma W308STe, while the latter is the resolution on offer with the Optoma X308STe.
These new projectors may not break records, but they are designed to perform well at a reasonably affordable price point. Their high brightness is matched with a short throw lens, which means you can project a 100in diagonal image on a screen or wall from just over a metre away. That makes it ideal for smaller meeting rooms or huddle spaces.
Kishan Mistry, senior product manager at Optoma EMEA, commented, “Our new short throw projectors offer an extremely cost-effective solution for brighter images in meeting rooms.”
The new projectors feature extensive connectivity with multiple inputs including HDMI, VGA and USB power for a quick connection to a laptop, PC, Blu-ray player or media streamer. They can be turned into smart projectors by connecting an HDMI dongle such as Google Chromecast to stream videos or share documents on the big screen.
In terms of audio, the projector can either standalone with its 10W speaker, or installers can take advantage of external speakers using the audio out port.
