Hitachi has revealed two new LCD projectors, both of which boast HDBaseT UltraHD video networking capability, as well as improved contrast, WUXGA resolution and numerous additional enhancements over others in the company’s line-up.

Both the CP-WU8461 and CP-WU8451 have been designed to deliver Ultra HD video quality to mid- and large-sized auditoriums and venues.

With HDBaseT connectivity the Ultra HD/3D and 2K/4K video being pushed through the projector can be delivered completely uncompressed using the Cat5e/6e input.

HDBaseT means that the CP-WU8461 and CP-WU8451 can receive video signals from distances of more than 300ft away.

In addition, both projectors include a complete selection of AV inputs, which includes HDMI, component, S-Video and composite video, USB Type A and Type B, computer and audio.

The CP-WU8461 and CP-WU8451 are both capable of delivering content to screen sizes up to 600in diagonal with WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution, 6000 and 5000 lumens and a 5000:1 contrast ratio.

Hitachi has also ensured to include its homegrown technology, including HDCR High Dynamic Contrast Range, which promises to yield clear images even in bright rooms, and Accentualizer, a feature that enhances sharpness, shadow detail and other image qualities.

Both models offer a DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) Simulation Mode, which could be utilised in a medical environment to view images such as X-rays.

The CP-WU8461 and CP-WU8451 provide motorised focus, as well as zoom and lens shift, which allows the adjustment of the image via the supplied remote control.

Digital keystone correction, Hitachi’s Perfect Fit image correction and a 360-degree display rotation promises to enable precise positioning of the image, which should also facilitate installation.

Five lenses can be used with Hitachi’s latest projectors, which includes the supplied 2.0x zoom lens. The other lenses are sold separately.

Hitachi’s Status Monitoring System, which provides real-time information about the projectors’ operational status via a rear panel LED screen and Crestron compatibility rounds up the key features of the CP-WU8461 and CP-WU8451.
