Habitech’s venture into the pro AV market is being backed by a new training initiative that will help CI integrators adapt and extend their skillset to the commercial AV marketplace. The new training is scheduled for May 2019, and involves both an introduction to commercial AV and a follow-up course for those wishing to go in-depth.

The one-day ‘Introduction to Commercial AV’ course offers custom installers a better understanding and experience of planning and deploying systems. It examines the difference between residential AV systems and those used in commercial applications; power and impedance requirements; low impedance serial/parallel applications; high impedance (‘constant voltage’ systems); audio transports; audio sources; auto-mixers; integrating video and audio; AVoIP and the hands-on experience of designing a system.

The day-two ‘Commercial AV Integrator’ course is aimed at engineers who have attended the ‘Introduction to Commercial AV’ course, or those with greater experience of commercial AV installation. It covers the more advanced aspects of CAV deployment including introduction to CAV configuration software; organising CAV diagrams; configuring an MTX/MRX system using MTX/XMV Editor (including a hands-on practical), and wiring video and audio sources (including balanced inputs).

As part of the training Habitech will be introducing its expanding product range in the pro AV sector, including the Sonance Professional Series of distributed audio in-ceiling, pendant and all-weather on-wall speakers; Yamaha Pro’s configurable multi-zone power amplifiers and audio processors; Wyrestorm’s ‘Network HD’ video-over-IP platform; Ruckus’ peerless switch technology; and iPort’s ‘Surface-Mount’ platform of iPad wall-mount solutions.

Habitech will be exhibiting many of these products at EI Live! 2019 on stand 48, which takes place at the Farnborough Exhibition Centre from April 30 – May 1.
