Extron has introduced the SF 10C SUB, an in-ceiling subwoofer that complements the Extron range of ceiling and pendant speakers by extending the low frequency response to support music and high-performance audio applications.

A novel suspended-by-wire mounting design completely isolates the subwoofer from the ceiling grid. A 10in driver within a fourth order bandpass, plenum-rated enclosure, designed to deliver powerful, room-filling bass.

“The SF 10C SUB is a unique solution to the problems associated with an in-ceiling subwoofer, ” says Casey Hall, vice president of sales and marketing for Extron. “Offering powerful low frequency performance that enhances ceiling speaker systems, the new subwoofer employs an innovative design that allows the subwoofer to be mounted in the plenum space while avoiding transfer of low end energy to the ceiling grid structure.”

Featuring a 10in driver with 800W of continuous program power handling capability, the SF 10C SUB, with its fourth order bandpass design and rigid composite enclosure, works with ceiling speakers to improve the system bass response, extending the low frequency range down to 25 Hz. The UL 2043 rating allows discreet placement in the plenum space, where the suspended-by-wire mounting design isolates the subwoofer from the ceiling grid.
