Stand 12H-80 will showcase the latest developments from Datapath, supplier of video management and control technology.

The company is unveiling two new products at ISE with a new dual 4K capture card along with what is believed to be ‘the world’s most powerful video wall controller’.

Datapath’s newly-launched Vision SC-UHD2 is the most powerful capture card in the company’s broad portfolio, providing two HDMI 2.0 capture channels with HDCP 2.2 at 4K 60p and full 4:4:4 chroma sampling.

This latest high-end card compliments Datapath’s successful Vision SC capture card family and according to the maker offers the most powerful frame grabber technology currently available.

The need for creative displays puts increased demands on hardware as Datapath product manager, Mark Rogers, explains, “AV integrators are demanding the highest resolution video when creating the most stunning visual displays and the new UHD2 addition to our Vision SC range is designed to meet and exceed that demand.

“Along with unparalleled performance and future-proof connectivity, end users also have the peace of mind that Datapath reliability brings. We believe the VisionSC-UHD2 to be the ultimate 4K capture card available to the market.”

Mark’s claim is backed up by some meaty looking specification. In order to capture two channels of 4K 60p 4:4:4 without any loss of quality or dropped frames, 4GB/s of raw data is needed and this requires a minimum of eight lanes PCIe Gen3.

Datapath says other dual 4K solutions offering eight lanes of PCIe Gen2 are not enough once data bus overheads are accounted for. With this in mind, Datapath’s VisionSC-UHD2 is the only professional solution with enough performance to handle two channels of 4K without any loss of quality or dropped frames, says the company.

With a full 10-bit processing pipeline, the VisionSC-UHD2 is suitable for the full spectrum of high-quality displays, from command and control rooms to creative, high-end corporate applications.

Purposely designed for high performance controllers, Datapath’s latest card works with the company’s latest iolite 12i chassis – delivering a single appliance, 12 output solution for 4K video walls and menu boards.

The next generation

Also being shown for the first time is the next- generation VSN1192 – billed as the most powerful video wall processor available to the market, equipped with dual Intel E5 processors to provide the power needed for today’s Command & Control rooms.

Datapath’s VSN systems are used by governments and organisations around the globe, in industries ranging from defence and network security to utility and blue-light services. The addition of dual Intel Xeon E5 processors now gives a clock speed of 2.3GHz, 8 cores, and a 20MB cache. Memory options are the highest in the Datapath range – up to 128GB.

The latest generation VSN1192 boasts an 11-slot backplane, designed by Datapath engineers to ensure stability and cool operating temperature, along with all the processing and connectivity required for today’s high impact control rooms.

The new model features dual redundant power supplies and dual RAID-configured 240GB SSD drives as standard, with the option to upgrade to 480GB, along with dual LAN ports and an RS232 interface.

Bjorn Krylander, managing director of Datapath, says, “Our team of engineers have worked hard to produce our latest VSN processors, and the result is a video wall controller that is the most powerful available to today’s market.

“Our VSN systems are trusted by the highest level of government and security organisations and this latest generation of developments brings even more power and flexibility to integrators and end users. We look forward to showcasing them in Amsterdam at ISE 2019.”

Alongside Datapath’s latest generation of video wall controllers, visitors to the ISE stand will also see how Quant software integrates with video wall management.

Quant allows users to instantly stream applications and data to and from video walls, as well as to other users on the same network who then have KVM capabilities to interact with the content – vital for a mission-critical operation.

There will also be demonstrations of Datapath’s latest WallControl software, which is now available as a plug-in to work in tandem with leading VMS security software.
